The organisers did not expect this - 3,000 people flooding the carpark beside the Yan Keng Benevolent Dramatic Association Building - but they were happy to oblige.

The Petaling Street Community Arts Project on Feb 5 was a boisterous show of culture and history snaking as a procession from the KL Gospel Hall downhill along the affected shoplots of Jalan Sultan and ending at the Yan Keng carpark. Won't be saying much here; best to go view the clip below.

Perhaps in the not too distant future, if things go as the government desires, a subterranean train line will be running 10 storeys beneath the very foreground of this picture. This view itself may be altered drastically; how much we do not know. What we do know is this portion of Chinatown - a half kilometre stretch of Jalan Sultan - has been earmarked for the MRT development leading towards a proposed terminal very near Stadium Merdeka just up the hill.
