ANOTHER year has passed, And still we do not know the truth. We will not rest till justice is done!
That was the resolve with which a group of Anak Bangsa Malaysia,
Gathered to remember, the known and unknown human beings, who died in the custody of the State.
Jafree Yusop (left) eloquently pricked the collective conscience of the nation – "Have we lost our humanity?" Visva, the tireless defender of those who have been dehumanized by the State, reminded us that they too had a name and an identity, not just a number!
Kok Fah (right) recounted the anguish and the agony of family and friends of Teoh Beng Hock, Gunasegaran and Ahmad Sarbaini. Theva reiterated Civil Society’s resolve to seek the truth and to ensure justice is done.
Sara Lily, the mother of Francis Udayappan whose life was cut short in 2004, lit a candle for all those who have joined her beloved son.
The remembrance event ended poignantly with a beautiful rendition of the song, Teoh Beng Hock- Wira Negara, by Nikjidan.
And, yes... the gentle hand says..."We have not forgotten!" |
