Kampung About SABM Background to SABM
Background to SABM PDF Print E-mail

On July 26, 2007, an article, Break the shackles of ‘Tribal Think’,  appeared in blogosphere. You can read that article here.

That article sparked off an earnest discussion in cyberspace about how communal and race-based politics have long stood in the way of uniting Malaysians as a single people of our beloved nation and culminated in a planned Anak Bangsa Malaysia fellowship held on August 25, 2007 in Kuala Lumpur.

The theme for that evening was the commemoration of the inspiration and legacy left behind for us by our beloved Bapa Malaysia, Tunku Abdul Rahman. An account of that evening can be read here.

In November of that same year, a second Anak Bangsa Malaysia fellowship evening was held in Penang. You can read about that gathering here.

After the 12th General Elections in March last year, we have, sadly, seen politicians from both sides of the political divide continue to play the ‘race card’.

It has become increasingly plain to many of us that if indeed we are to become a nation of a single people who embrace our diverse cultures and faiths, it can only be attained through the efforts of ordinary folk like you and me who do not desire political power but only wish to see justice and equality for all.

Since January 2009, a group of like-minded Anak-Anak Bangsa Malaysia have come together and have worked hard to try and put together a programme that we hope will see the beginnings of the spirit of One People, One Nation taking root amongst the people of our nation.

We are also working to build up the network of individuals involved in this initiative with a view to developing a series of Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia Neighbourhood Get-togethers at which the One People, One Nation message can be shared at the most minimal of costs to the organisers.

Sept 16, 2009 is merely the first step. The doors are thrown open. May the many Anak-anak Bangsa Malaysia step forth. We have a nation to build.

SABM has taken the first step. Congratulations. Its a long and winding road with the current situation in our country. And it takes people like you guys to keep the goal clear in Malaysian mind. Well, a thousand miles journey begins with a single step. Keep it up.

A good attempt.

Wonderful, guys! An effort like this needs commitment, steminar, will, courage & perseverence! More than 50% of Malaysians will support this effort, and the remaining 50% will wait and see, and follow suit,........in due course! Only the die hard racialists will, like the KKK in the US, and the NF in the UK, will remain steadfast to their shattered dreams! But, if We fail to strategise and sustain this effort, and the Organisers start bickering and jokeying for recognition, then failure will make another effort pretty tough! So, please, please,.......strategise, stretagise, and stretagise,.......with a formula that is self-sustaining, which will, in a matter of time function quite easily on auto-cruise!

SABM is a good start. However, it must speak without fear or favour.
When Utusan and Berita Harian are fanning racial sentiment, it must come out hard on them, without fear or favour.

Why should I upgrade to Internet Explorer 7? Microsoft has redesigned Internet Explorer from the ground up, with better security, new capabilities, and a whole new interface. Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security. The Internet of today is not the Internet of five years ago. There are dangers that simply didn't exist back in 2001, when Internet Explorer 6 was released to the world. Internet Explorer 7 makes surfing the web fundamentally safer by offering greater protection against viruses, spyware, and other online risks.
