IRON resolve. Classy. Principled. Compassionate.

BERSIH 2.0 on July 9th will be remembered for many things for the thousands who turned up despite the Fear Factor. Still buoyant over his ridiculously roundabout route to the foot of the stadium's hill, JAYANATH APPUDURAI shares with us his scrapbook of that haze-tinted day

ber01a

As promised the “lockdown” was comprehensive. They were determined to deny the Rakyat the right to peaceful assembly!

ber03a

So they thought they had the Rakyat ‘snookered’!

ber05a

But the Rakyat had other thoughts!

ber06a

We will not be intimidated… We will have our “Walk for Democracy” come what may!

ber07a

So the People came in all the diversity our bountiful nation is blessed with…

ber08a

This lovely couple epitomized the spirit of the silent majority….

ber09a

And he walked for all those who for whatever reason stayed away.

ber10a

It did not matter if there were 6000 or 50,000! The Rakyat have spoken – we do not fear the tear gas, the water cannons or the barbed wire! We will have our version of “Freedom Square”.

ber11a

And the rain was not going to stop us

ber12a

From making our stand at Merdeka Stadium!

ber13a

And who better to do it with than our very own ‘Tagore’. Folks, it was just awesome! It was a soul-enhancing day! “We want free and fair elections, Thank You.”

Good way telling the story! You are a great Malaysian.

Morning I read one message in which a Malaysian son retorted to his Malaysian mother that Martin Luther King prayed but he did not stop with it but marched for freedom.

In the last picture, you used the word 'Tagore' to describe Samad Said. Shambo is glad that Rabindranath Tagore is still being remebered.

Many changes resulted from the feedback of millions of users who tested prerelease versions of the new browser. The most compelling reason to upgrade is the improved security.
